A Mt. Vernon man who failed to show up for sentencing last week was taken into custody Thursday afternoon.
Mt. Vernon Police say they developed information that Rodney Moore had been seen in the area of the 16-hundred block of South 12th Street. After narcotics detectives confirmed his location, he was arrested during the noon hour with the assistance of Mt. Vernon Police and Jefferson County Sheriff’s Deputies.
Moore failed to show up for sentencing on charges of possession of a firearm by a felon and possession of a defaced firearm. He had earlier been convicted of the charges.
Moore was taken to the Jefferson County Justice Center in Mt. Vernon where he is being held with no bond.
