Police Beat for Thursday, August 9th, 2018

A 36-year-old Mt. Vernon woman has been arrested on a recently issued Marion County warrant for possession of a controlled substance. Crystal Copple of South 15th in Mt. Vernon was taken to the Marion County Jail by sheriff’s deputies. Bond on the warrant is set at $10,000.

Salem Police have arrested 38-year-old Nathan Nelson of West Olive in Salem for disorderly conduct. Police say they were originally called to a disturbance at Nelson’s home, but no arrests were made as it was all verbal. Nelson was taken to Salem Township Hospital at his request, but later walked out and cursed at a nurse walking to her car.

25-year-old Steven Whitaker of Lake Road in Carlyle posted $150 bond and was released after being arrested by Sandoval Police for driving on a suspended or revoked license.
