The Bryan Bennett Library will begin shutting off the wifi available outside the building each night.
Librarian Kim Keller says wifi will now be available from eight am to ten pm each night. She reports unwanted visitors were using the reason that they wanted to use the wifi for being on the library property.
Keller says in one case a person was found on the roof. Another person was found asleep in front of a door. Others have been loitering on the library parking lot.
Keller notes the library is marked for no loitering and Salem Police have been asked to provide extra patrols. She says a security camera is also in place to monitor after-hours activity.
Keller says, unfortunately, the actions of some are causing the wifi service to be limited to all.
