Franklin Park, SC, Odin & Selmaville Earn Softball Wins

The Franklin Park Lady Bobcats bounced back from their season opening loss with a 9-2 win at Woodlawn in softball action.  Lilly Blagoue was great in the circle striking out 14.  Allie Roberts was 3-4 with a double and 2 RBI.  Miranda Podergois had a 3 run home run.  Salem will play Tuesday at Carlyle.

The SC Lady Falcons are 3-0 following their 13-0 win at home over Altamont Lutheran.  Taegan Webster struck out 11 and faced only 16 batters in 5 innings.  She gave up a leadoff single in the top of the 5th to break up the perfect game.  SC was helped by 10 Altamont walks.  Brooklyn Garrett had 3 hits and drove in 3.  Sierra Arnold scored 3 runs with Webster & Jaylyn Michel adding 2 runs each.  Hailey Shuler, Abi Shuler and Ella Watwood also scored runs.  SC will look to make it a 4-0 start on Monday at home against Windsor.

The Odin Lady Eagles defeated Raccoon 15-0 in the opening round of the Oil Belt Conference softball tournament.  Audrey Clark earned the no-hit win striking out 8.  Trista Moore and Clark both homered for Odin while Mireya Rose, Kylie Watson, Aliza Davis and Amiah Wallace all added hits.  Odin will play Willow Grove today at Central City.

Selmaville opened up with a 21-0 rout of Central City.  Jerzi Smith drove in 3 runs for the Lady Rockets, Lauren Burge & Natalie Lee added 2 each with Shayla Prosise and Jaeda Rollinson adding RBI.  Burge earned the win in 3 perfect innings.

Okawville is at Lebanon, Bethel at Field, Vandalia hosts Pana, Waltonville at Mt Vernon.
