Lady Cats Fall At Central….Prep Volleyball Scores

The Salem Lady Wildcats volleyball team played much better than they had over the weekend, but it wasn’t enough as they fell to Breese Central in Cahokia play 11-25, 17-25.  Karlie Rose had 2 assists; Chloe Harness 3 kills with 2 each coming from Kenzie Martin and Taylor Gillett.  Ellie Bunnell added 5 assists.  Salem also lost the freshman match 14-21, 20-21 and the JV contest 5-25, 11-25.

Also in conference action last night, Carlyle had a six point lead twice in the 2nd set but fell to Columbia 25-16, 25-21.  Freeburg beat Belleville West 25-18, 25-11.

In other action:

SC improved to 2-6 and 1-2 in the National Trail with their 28-26, 25-19 win at Dieterich.  Mackenzie Potter led SC with 12 points and 7 kills.  Madyson Magnus had 5 assists.  The JV won 25-15, 25-10 and the fresh/soph split 25-22, 22-25.

Centralia opened up the South 7 with a 25-7, 25-18 win over Mt Vernon in Trout Arena.  Centralia is 7-4 overall while Mt Vernon falls to 1-5.

Also last night, St Elmo beat CHBC 26-24, 25-21.

Tonight in prep volleyball, Nashville heads to Woodlawn.

In Juco volleyball, the KC Blue Angels are 4-1 and will play at Rend Lake College.  The Lady Warriors roster features area standouts Kasey Sager of Salem, Madison Crews of Mt Vernon, Hannah Estes of Woodlawn and Vanessa Wyciskalla of Nashville.
