A vacant home in Sandoval was destroyed by an early morning fire.
Fire Chief Chad Parson has called in the State Fire Marshal to investigate the cause of the fire at 120 South Mulberry. He reports the fire is suspicious because there were no utilities to the home. By the time firemen arrived, heavy fire was showing from both the front and rear of the home and the roof was in the process of collapsing. As a result, firemen had to fight the fire defensively.
Marion County property records indicate the home is owned by Judith Saale.
Odin Firemen were called for mutual aid assistance. Firemen fought the fire for five and a half hours beginning at one Wednesday morning.
