A 25-year-old Chicago man was injured when his box truck went out of control on Route 37 a mile south of Route 161 Friday night.
Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies say Armando Ocampo was northbound on Route 37 when he lost control due to the snow, crossed the southbound lane and turned over on the passenger side in the ditch. OCampo could not get out of the vehicle on his own but received assistance from bystanders at the scene before emergency help arrived.
The Kell Fire Department was called to the scene. Ocampo was later taken to Salem Township Hospital for treatment of injuries.
The crash occurred at 8:46 Friday night. It was one of several incidents where vehicles ran off the road due to the icy conditions Friday night and Saturday morning.
