Centralia man pleads guilty to residential burglary

A 26-year-old Centralia man has pleaded guilty in Marion County Court to residential burglary.

Collin Arnold of South Maple was sentenced to five years probation and given credit for 57 days served in jail.   He was also ordered to make $19 restitution.

Arnold admitted to entering his grandfather’s home on South Marion in Central City in December of last year.

Central City Police Chief Jim Malloy says Arnold allegedly forced open a door on the home twice and took prescription drugs and cash.   At the time of his arrest, Malloy said Arnold admitted to committing the break-ins to support a heroin habit.
