Darlene Kay Best, 81, of Vernon passed away Thursday, May 9, 2019 at Fireside House in Centralia. Mrs. Best had a true artistic nature, sharing her talent by creating beautiful paintings. She had a fun, adventurous spirit and enjoyed playing bingo and watching the Game Show Network. She will be remembered for the love and support she gave to all her family and friends.

Survivors include her devoted children, Jimmy Thompson and special friend Sylvia of Centralia, Leroy Thompson and Eileen of Vernon, Kathy Richeson and husband Brad of Vernon; 11cherished grandchildren; 18 precious great-grandchildren, with 1 on the way; and 3 treasured great-great-grandchildren
She was born on April 26, 1938 the daughter of Jess and Kathleen (Suppon) Beaver in Collinsville. She married her life’s love, Howard Best on January 22, 1979 in Golden, CO and he preceded her in death on October 22, 2011. Along with her husband, Howard Best, Mrs. Best was preceded in death by both her parents, Jess and Kathleen Beaver; and her great-grandchild, Marissa Flanigan, Sons John Thompson Jr., David Thompson.
