Centralia now has a trolley. The city purchased the trolley from a company in Hermann, Missouri that now has eight trolleys in operation delivering visitors to tourist attractions.
The trolley driver making the delivery on Tuesday feels the vehicle will be perfect for Centralia to do the same thing.
“If you are doing charters to your local wineries or around town its the perfect size. 26 seated and of course a set of hand rails if people want to stand its legal to do so and we can get more on, we drive safe. It’s the perfect way to get around a town this size.”
Centralia City Manager Dan Ramey feels residents will see the trolley as a positive for the city. It is being paid for through tourism funds that has to be used for tourism related projects. Ramey is hoping to work out an agreement with South Central transit to maintain the vehicle and provide a driver.
