Rubin Leaps To State With PR Long Jump, Harlan/Speidel Advance For CHS

Logan Rubin leaped his way to the state track meet as the sophomore won the Herrin Sectional long jump with a leap of 21-7 setting a new sophomore record and personal record.

Also advancing was Mt Vernon’s Eli Badger who won the pole vault going 14-9.  Teammate Chase Belangee was 3rd in the discus at 146-2.  A tandem of Orphans also will compete as sophomore Brooks Harlan won the 1600m in 4:27-97 and teammate Matt Speidel was 4th in the 800m in 1:59.53.

 

 

The Christ Our Rock Track team recently competed at the Jared Morris Invitational in Nashville.  Salem stand-out Ty Reynolds won the 800m in 2:03, he was 1st in the 1600 in 4:48 and also 1st in the 4×800 with a time of 2:05.  All 3 events were school records.  The team will travel to Nashville tomorrow for Sectionals.
