Salem man arrested on outstanding warrants after trying to flag down motorists 

A 31-year-old Salem man who was attempting to flag down motorists to get a ride to the hospital near the corner of Mills Cart and Airport Roads was arrested by police after they determined he was wanted on outstanding warrants.

John David Atteberry of South Washington was taken into custody on a no bond Edgar County warrant for escape and a Wayne County warrant for failure to appear on a dangerous drugs charge.

Police report after refusing to cooperate with an ambulance crew to go to the hospital, the arrest was made.  He remains in the Marion County Jail Friday morning.
