The Marion County Board has given the green light for two more improvement projects to move forward.
Building Committee Chair Dr. Creighton Engel explains the projects.
“We have to upgrade the heat detectors and the smoke detectors. The panel was also getting quite old so it was going to be a little more money to upgrade to a whole new panel, but we thought that would be money well spent. So basically that’s going to be covering those systems at the public service building and the courthouse. We also approved a security film for the lower level windows of office holders to help prevent break-ins and things like that.”
Security Alarm will complete the upgrade of the alarm system at a cost of $26,000. The window security film for the windows will cost $4,920.
The board approved the appointment of Salem Township Hospital President Kendra Taylor to replace Dr. Baumgart on the health board.
The board reappointed Lester Kretzer, Dean Jett, and Thomas Perkins to new six-year terms on the Fredonia Cemetery Association.
