Myra Marie Warner, 84 passed away at 7:50 P.M. on July 15, 2019 at SSM Good Samaritan Hospital in Mount Vernon, Illinois. Myra was a lifelong resident of Bluford and graduated from Bluford High School. She worked at the Osborn General Store in Bluford and also worked as a receptionist in the dental office of Dr. Bill Osborn in Mt. Vernon before retiring after several years. Myra enjoyed cooking, especially trying new recipes, working in her vegetable garden and quilting. She was also an active member of the Bluford Ruritan Club for many years. Myra was known for her knowledge of the history and people in the Bluford area. When someone had a question, Myra usually had the answer.
Visitation will be on Friday, July 19, 2019 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. A graveside service will be at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at Oakwood Cemetery in Mount Vernon, Illinois. She is survived by a sister Audrey Wood of Bloomington, one niece, several nephews; one sister-in-law; and a special friend Carol Hill.
Myra was born March 23, 1935 to Archie and Mary Cameron in Jefferson County IL. She married Andrew J. Warner “Junior” on August 16, 1952. He preceded her in death on March 14, 2008. She was preceded in death by her parents, Archie and Mary Cameron; husband, Andrew J. Warner “Junior”; and brother, Darrell Cameron.
