Eleven people have been arrested on outstanding warrants culminating months-long drug investigations by the Mt. Vernon Police
Department/Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division.
During the service of the warrants on Wednesday, additional investigations were initiated and arrests in those cases are pending.
Those arrested are identified as 24-year-old Ronald Mount of Mt. Vernon, 28-year-old Markeize Haynes of Mt. Vernon 28-year-old Clarrisa Drew of Bluford, 48-year-old Bart Edmison of Opdyke, 26-year-old Kyler Smith of Mt. Vernon and 39-year-old Jason Caratachea of Mt. Vernon for unlawful delivery of methamphetamine. Caratachea is already in the Illinois Department of Corrections. Smith was arrested by the Washington County Sheriff’s Department.
33-year-old Aaron D Gladney of Mt. Vernon was arrested for Unlawful Delivery of a Controlled Substance (heroin). Gladney is currently on parole from the Illinois Department of Corrections for two counts of Domestic Battery with Prior and Conditional Discharge for Unlawful Delivery of Methamphetamine.
41-year-old Shawn Flatt, of Mt. Vernon and 52-year-old David Lamar of Woodlawn, were arrested for Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine. 43-year-old Fernandus D Jones of Mt. Vernon and already in the Jefferson County Jail was charged with unlawful possession of heroin. 36-year-old David Mustread of Mt. Vernon was also charged with unlawful possession of heroin.
