Lady Cats Fall At Columbia, Central Clinches Share Of Cahokia Title

The Salem Lady Cats volleyball team dropped another Cahokia Conference matchup, this time at Columbia 11-25, 24-26.  The Varsity’s up and down play continued.  After not being able to get any momentum in the first set, Salem led by as much as 23-14 in the 2nd but Columbia came back for the win. Malia Harris had 3 kills with Taylor Gillett and Katelyn Biegeleisen 2 each.  Harris finished with 6 digs, Delaney Kell added 4.

Breese Central clinched at least a share of the Cahokia Conference Mississippi Division title with a 21-25, 25-11, 25-18 win over Freeburg.  Central improves to 17-6 overall and 8-0 in the league.  Freeburg falls to 13-8 overall and 5-3 in the conference.

Also in league play, Carlyle avenged an earlier loss to Wesclin 25-19, 25-17.  Carlyle has 10 wins on the road this season and 1 at home.

South Central defeated Sandoval 25-19, 25-14 to improve to 12-6 overall.  Halle Smith had 14 kills and 5 digs, Madyson Magnus added 14 assists and 8 points to go with 7 digs, Sydnee Garrett 8 points, 8 digs, Angelica Rivera 12 digs.  The SC JV lost in 3 sets to fall to 7-3.  SC travels to Neoga tomorrow.

KC will be at John A Logan in GRAC play.
