Pinckneyville Rallies In 7th To Top Patoka In State Semifinal

 The SIJHSAA state semifinals were held in various classes and sites yesterday.

In Class S softball at Coulterville, Patoka gave up 4 runs in the 7th inning to turn a 3-3 tie into a 7-3 defeat to Pinckneyville.  The Lady Mohawks will play tomorrow at 1pm for 3rd place against Woodlawn after they fell to Century 5-4.

In Class S baseball, Altamont Lutheran punched their ticket to the championship with a 14-1 win over Crab Orchard.  They will get Holy Childhood Mascoutah after their 12-2 win over TSJ Nashville.

In Class L softball at Centralia, Marion defeated Carmi White County 8-4 and will play Carterville in Thursday’s championship after their 10-1 win over Johnston City.

In Class L baseball, Highland beat Waterloo 6-3 to get to the championship and will play Harrisburg after their 2-0 win over Flora.

IN Class M softball at Pinckneyville, Trico is in the title game after their 14-1 win over Jonesboro with Carlyle falling to Okawville in the other semi 2-1.

In Class M baseball, Nashville beat Breese 1-0 and will play Millstadt after their 8-3 win over Christopher.
