Wildcats Soccer Season Ends To Tribe At Breese

Salem’s soccer season came to an end at the Mater Dei Regional Semifinal with a 3-2 loss to Carlyle.  The Tribe will advance to take on the host Knights in the title game after their win over Wesclin.  Salem got 2 goals from Carter Wilson on assists from Caden Harris and Eli Davis.  It was a solid season for first year head coach Ford Barnfield who has the program trending in the right direction after a tough couple of years.

Also last night at Marquette, the hosts shutout Staunton 7-0 and Hillsboro 1-0 over Wood River.  At Anna, Columbia routed Massac County 10-0, Althoff was the site for Father McGivney over Roxana 9-1 and Althoff in overtime over Breese Central 1-0.  At Teutopolis, the  Shoes beat St Anthony 5-0, Newton 1-0 over Altamont.

Today in regional semifinals, Anna Jonesboro hosts Pinckneyville, At Freeburg its Mt Carmel against Christ Our Rock at 4 followed by the Midgets and Murphysboro at 6.

The KC Blue Angels finished up their regular season at 11-4 with a 2-0 win over Jefferson College of Missouri.  Mo Scruggs and Allyson Fehrmann scored on assists by Fayth Brewer.  Courtney Brewer earned the shutout in net.
