The Salem Bobcats dropped their opener of the Benton Round Robin Tournament losing to the hosts 45-36. Salem led 11-8 after the opening quarter and 24-19 at the break but was outscored 14-6 in the 3rd to trail 33-30 after three. Connor Tennyson had 9 to lead Salem, Sam Greene finished with 8 and Noah Nix 7. Salem returns to regular season play tonight when they travel to Effingham.
Also last night, Raccoon defeated Willow Grove 75-35. Owen Worlds finished with 26 and Zayne Trout 18 as Raccoon is 13-2. The Devils JV also were winners 48-15.
Sandoval defeated St Peter 67-46. Armoni Dempsey had 22 in the win, Quentin Heinzmann added 18 and Drew Gore 9. Sandoval is 10-2 on the year as they host Willow Grove tonight. The Sandoval JV were winners 76-16 behind 15 from Gore and Trayton Adams added 14, Carter Ahlf 13 and Dakota Harden 10. The JV are 4-1.
Selmaville fell to Odin 41-31. Owen Becker had 10 and Heydin Purcell 9 for the Rockets. Camden Parrish 13 led Odin and Lincoln Roberts added 10. Selmaville won the JV game 32-24 behind 16 from Becker. Brady Haines had 6 for Odin.
Central City improved to 14-2 with their 63-13 win at home over Field. Trey Williams Jr had 17 and Cam Tomlenovich added 12. The JV also won 65-12.
