Lady Cats 2nd Half Struggles Leads Central To 45th Straight Home Conference Win

The Salem Lady Cats held a 10 point lead in the first half and led 21-17 at the break, but Breese Central dominated the 2nd half to the tune of 29-9 and the Lady Cougars beat Salem 46-30.  It was the 45th consecutive conference home win for Breese Central who hasn’t lost in Breese in Cahokia play in nearly 9 years.  Miah Weems finished with a game-high 23 points, 16 in the second half.  Haley Ottenschnieder added 13 off the bench as Central finished 11-of-16 from the foul line.  Salem was led by Chloe Harness with 10 and Delaney Kell added 8.  Salem is 1-4 and will host Carlyle on Thursday.

The SC Lady Cougars fell to Brownstown/St Elmo 61-28.  Halle Smith led SC with 12, Brooklyn Garrett and Kayli Swift had 6 each and Laney Webster added 4.  SC is 2-2 and will host Webber on Thursday.  The SC FBLA also hosted an Alzheimers Awareness night in conjunction with the game.
