Freeburg Gets To Win #20 With Victory Over Carlyle

The losing streak reaches six games for the Carlyle Indians as they fall 60-45 at home to Freeburg Wednesday in Cahokia Conference Mississippi Division play. Indians never led as they trailed 18-6 after one period and 29-17 at halftime. Freeburg extended that lead to 15 early in the third period, but the Tribe fought back and cut that margin to 43-38 on Mitchell Becker’s field goal with 7:40 left. The Midgets responded with a 16-5 run that put the game away. Hayden Hoffmann led Carlyle with 14 points and Becker added 12. Freeburg’s Luke Ervie had 18 points and went 23-for-23 at the free throw line in two games against the Indians this season. Carlyle falls to 8-19 overall and 0-8 in conference play. Indians continue league play Friday at Columbia.
