17 new cases of COVID-19 reported in Marion County Thursday; 10 now hospitalized

The Marion County Health Department is reporting 17 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday and ten now hospitalized from coronavirus symptoms.

Administrator Melissa Mallow says of the 17 new cases one is linked to the Salem factory outbreak and two are fully vaccinated.   Eleven of the cases are listed as community spread and six as a result of household or close contacts.

The positive range from a female infant under six months to a female in her 80s, including three who are school age.

There are currently 88 active cases.  78 are on home isolation and ten are in the hospital, with three on ventilators.
