The Centralia City Council has presented a plaque of appreciation to outgoing Veterans Committee Chair Earl White.

Mayor Tom Ashby commended White not only for his work on veteran issues for the city, but also individuals in need of assistance.

White looks back at a number of accomplishments.

"This city is a Flag city. But we have also done a lot of other things as a community. The parade certainly has become an annual look forward to by veterans and their families and generally the city. We are proud of the fact that we got to put the World War II monument back to where it belongs, on a pedastool that was deserving of those who served."

White was quick to point out the award should go to the entire community because they did the work to make the projects a reality.
