Salem Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Leonard Ferguson estimates 1,700 attended the annual Home, Community and Ag Expo at the Salem Community Activity Center.

He's pleased with the turnout.

"I think it was another winner. The weather was beautiful. It was sunny and nice and too wet to work in their yards the people flooded out and came to the Home Show which made for a great show. A lot of vendors were very pleased. We as a Chamber thanks to our business donations we had over 90 gifts we presented for door prizes. They also provided prizes for the Bingo."

Salem Township Hospital sold 854 vouchers for low cost blood testing during the show. Numbers were not immediately available on those taking advantage of the free hearing and eye testing by the Salem Lions Club.

The winner of the $400 50-50 drawing sponsored by the chamber was Becca Penn. Other chamber raffle prize winners were Ed Black, Kelly Predium, June Smith, and Jeanne Gustafson who won pairs of sunglasses. Lorie Witter won the large King stuffed Bear. Randy Hudler was the winner of the pizza oven. Susan Hall won the lawn mower.
