Two Face New Felony Charges in Marion County Court Wednesday

New Charges Are For Aggravated Battery and Failure to Register As a Sex Offender

Two people were formally charged with new felony offenses in Marion County Court on Wednesday.

42-year-old Paul Hickey III of Randolph Drive in Centralia was charged with aggravated battery for allegedly spitting in the face of a nurse at SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital while there for treatment. He was released on $10,000 personal recognizance bond to return to St. Mary's to have an evaluation completed.

Bond was set at $5,000 for 41-year-old Charles Runyon of Sanders Street in Centralia after he was charged with failure to register as a sex offender. He is accused of failing to notify police that he had established a new residence within three days.

Both had the public defender appointed to represent them.
