By WJBD Staff Jul 12, 2021 | 7:02 AM

The Salem 10u opened up their District Tournament at Mt Carmel with a 10-7 win over Olney.  Bentley Bryan went 4-4 with a triple and double.  He scored 4 runs and drove in another.  Owen Tennyson had 3 runs and 3 RBI to go with his 2 hits.  Colten Tockstein and Zane Applegate also drove in runs.  Jax Schaubert worked 3.1 innings allowing 4 hits and no runs.  Bryan and Jared Crompton also worked in the win.  Salem will play tonight against either Lawrenceville or Mt Carmel in the semifinal.  If Salem wins tonight, they would be in the championship game and would have to lose twice to be eliminated.

The Salem 11u dropped to 0-2 at Olney with their 10-0 loss to Robinson.  Caleb Squibb and Logan Butts singled for Salem.  Landon White lasted 1.1 innings allowing 6 hits and 4 runs in the loss.  Butts threw 2.1 innings in relief.  Salem falls into the elimination game tomorrow against the loser of tonight’s game between Robinson and Olney.  The winner of the elimination game would then have to beat that winner twice in the title series to advance.

The Salem 12u dropped their opener at Robinson to Olney 11-4.  Salem had the bases loaded with one out and the middle of the order up in the sixth, but came up short.  They return to action tonight in an elimination game.
