About 40 survivors attended the Survivor Luncheon ahead of the annual American Cancer Society Relay for Life in Salem.
Survivor Chair Amanda Jamison says the survivors and their caregivers were treated to a soup and sandwich lunch.
“The turnout this year wasn’t as great as we’ve had in the year’s past, but each survivor counts so even if we had one that’s what matters. We got a lot of people registered today, we got t-shirts handed out and everyone had a nice lunch.”
Jamison says right now seven teams are signed up for the Friday, June 28th, event at the Marion County Fairgrounds. The goal is 20 teams. The theme this year is Carnival of Hope.
