Softball, Junior League & Minors Highlight Night At Complex

In softball action at the Complex, Schmidt Ford beat Casey’s 13-3.  Mattie Branson, Allison Thurman and Katee Sellers all worked on the mound in the win.  Shayla Edwards and Brooklyn Bookhout were 3-3, Edwards tripled, doubled, scored 2 runs and drove in 3.  Bookhout had a double, scored 2 runs and drove in another.  Branson had a triple and home run with 3 RBI.  Halle Nix had 2 hits including a double and scored twice with 3 RBI.  Tayler Earnst had 2 doubles and an RBI.  Bryleigh Timmons had 2 hits and 2 runs.  Allison Thurman had a hit and RBI, Sellers the same.  Makenzie Randolph a hit and run with Kaolin Lewis also scoring.  In the loss for Casey’s, Emma Jones and Natalie Burgess had 2 hits.  Willow Amburgey, Honnie Williams and Miranda Dailey each had a hit and run.  Kylie Johnson, Alyssa Jones and Shelby Johnson added hits.

Landers beat Wabash 4-0.  Bria Murray, Brylee Pennypacker and Caitlynn Bryan combined to get the win in the circle.  Murray had 2 hits along with Kylie Engel, Maxi Thorson added a hit along with Maybre Smith, Money Pennypacker, Kierra Cowger and Kenzie Coffee.  In the loss Wabash got hits from Shayla Prosise and Isabella Deckard.

In boys minors, Edward Jones outslugged Security Alarm 17-16.  In the win, Landon White had 2 hits and 3 RBI, Avery East also drove in 3, Rylan Moore had 3 hits and 2 RBI, Brenden Smith had 2 hits and drove in 2, Landon Tennyson had a hit and RBI with Kevan Moore adding 2 hits.  In the loss for Security Alarm, Eli Gray had 4 hits and drove in 5, Jaret Gibson 2 hits and 4 RBI, Caleb Squibb and Walker Crank each had 2 hits and drove in 2 with Landen Decker adding 2 hits.

State Farm beat Marion County Savings Bank 10-9.  Max Vincent was the winning pitcher striking out 3 in his 1.2 innings while coming up with the game winning walk-off 2-run hit.  He finished with 3 RBI.  Also Kade Orrell had 3 hits and drove in 3, RBI also came from Silas Lux, Kamerin Arnold, Nate Lowery and Madden Thompson.  Kyler King scored.  There was also a great defensive double play where 2nd baseman orrell tagged out a runner and through another at the plate out to end a bases loaded threat.  For MCSB, Keytin Grawe had 2 hits, 3 RBI and scored, Jace Keller doubled and drove in a run, Zane Dodson hit a grand slam, John Hahs scored twice and added an RBI, Carter Shanafelt scored twice.

In Junior League, Salem Tire improved to 7-0 with a 16-2 win over Wayne Steavens Construction.  Aden Bass had 2 hits including a double, Seth Olrey and Brian Evilsizer also had hits in the win with Caleb Calhoun doubling twice.

Hunter Law is 3-4 with their 15-2 win over Peoples National Bank.  Colton Shoemaker and Blane Phillips drove in 2 in the win with RBI also from Josh Powless, Elijah Gregory, Eli Whitworth and Donovan Garren.  Haden Irvin also doubled.  In the loss, Jalen Inlow had the lone RBI.

In girls coach pitch, Bandy’s Pharmacy over Modern Woodman 21-14.  The players of the game for Bandy’s were Adysen Pracht and Raquel Vititow.  For Modern Woodman was Teagan Lobek and Reagan Shuler.
