Dana Myers, 51, of Odin passed away Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. Dana worked at Odin Health Care Center where she treasured the friendships of those there that she considered family. She will be remembered decked out in her Cardinal gear, cheering on their every win, as she was one of the Cardinal’s biggest fans. Going to the movies to watch the latest film, while eating popcorn always brought her relaxation and joy. Dana’s devotion and endless love, for her late son Ryan, was an inspiration to all her family and friends.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, June 15, 2019 at the Irvin Macz Funeral Home in Odin with Brother Claude Howell officiating. Interment will follow at Peaceful Valley Cemetery in Odin. A visitation time will be from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service on Saturday at the funeral home in Odin. Memorials may be made to family’s wishes and will be accepted at the funeral home. Survivors remaining to carry on precious memories of Dana include her devoted mother, Jane Smith of Odin; siblings, Cathy Shanafelt and husband Jerry of Odin, Mike Smith of Odin, Mark Smith and wife Sandi of Columbus IN; aunt, Shirley Smith of Centralia, and Sharon Hedrick of East Peoria, and additional aunts and uncles; nieces, Amy Shanafelt, and Jamie Shanafelt both of Odin; and great-nephew, Landon Johnson.
She was born on December 24, 1967 the daughter of Paul Delano and Jane (Templeman) Smith in Centralia. Dana was preceded on death by her father, Paul Delano Smith; and cherished son, Ryan Scott Myers.
