11u Survive Again, Winner Take All District Title Game Tonight In Olney

The Salem 11u Wildcats have earned their way all the way through the elimination bracket to set up a one game, winner-take-all championship tonight against Robinson in Olney.  The Cats won for the 3rd straight night with their season on the line, knocking off previously unbeaten Robinson 5-4.

Salem trailed 2-0 after the 2nd inning, but Avery Gullion singled to left to start a 2-out rally in the 3rd with 3 runs on big hits as well from Colton Rogers and Adrian Miller.  Robinson regained a 4-3 lead with 2 runs in the fourth but Salem answered right back with a pair in the fifth.  Miller was the starting pitcher for Salem working 3-plus innings but loaded the bases with no outs in the fourth before coach Aaron Rostance went to left handed reliever Payton Gullion who did not disappoint.

Gullion kept Salem in the game working out of the jam.  Gullion allowed 2 hits and 0 runs with 3 strikeouts and a walk.  The final inning was uneventful as Gullion got a groundout, strikeout and handled a pop out for the 3rd out and another trip to Olney today.

At the plate for Salem, Carter Lowe had 3 hits and scored a run, Miller had 2 hits with singles from Payton Gullion, Avery Gullion, Eli Lograsso with Kyler Sapp scoring a run.

Game time for the District Title matchup is at 6pm with the winner going back to Olney next week for Sectionals.
