Marion County Fair Queen Grace Beavin is hosting Dogs Gone Walking at the Bryan Memorial Park Dog Park on Saturday.
Beavin says the event is a fundraiser for the Salem Animal Control facility where she volunteered for several summers.
“We will meet up at the Dog Park in Salem and we are going to take a little walk around the park and downtown depending on the weather. And hopefully, we can raise money for the Animal Control in Salem so they can do some more things for animals out there.”
Beavin says there is a $12 participation fee that will go to the Salem Animal Control facility.
“Something really exciting is that the City of Salem Animal Control will be holding micro-chipping for $10 at the event and all you have to do is be a paid participant and they will do that for you.”
You’ll also have chances to win raffle baskets with items for dogs and humans.
Beavin says the Animal Control Facility will utilize the donations for medical care and other needs.
