Salem woman formally charged with aggravated battery to police officer

A 52-year-old Salem woman has been formally charged in Marion County Court with aggravated battery to a police officer.

Christie Rhodes of East Bennett is accused of striking the hand of a Salem Police officer who was in the process of giving her an ordinance violation for littering.

Rhodes had the public defender appointed to represent her. Bond was set at $2,500. If released on bond, Rhodes was ordered to abstain from alcohol and drugs with random testing.
