IHSA Spring Sports Shutdown Till At Least April

With the Coronavirus panic throughout the country and more recently, the State of Illinois, all Spring Sports in the IHSA has been shut down until April 6th at least.  Salem baseball coach Brian Lipe told the Sports Showcase this weekend, he will be talking with his team today as school meets for the final time this month amidst the Governor’s orders.  Lipe isn’t sure if or when his team will be ready to play, but says they will deal with it just like everyone else has to do.  Its not ideal, but its better to be safe than to possibly put people at risk.

Also the Salem Little League has told its league and travel teams their insurance company through Little League International will not cover teams practicing during the shutdown with the Complex being shutdown now until the end of the month at least.  The league will reach out to the community when the shutdown has been lifted and when the 2020 Travel and League seasons can get underway.
