Centralia Police say a car they were attempting to stop early Thursday morning fled and eventually crashed into a tree.

Police report both the driver and passenger attempted to flee on foot following the crash at 3rd and Hickory. The driver got away, but the passenger who sustained an injury to his forehead was caught a short distance away.

24-year-old Lorenzo Cross of North Maple in Centralia was taken by ambulance to SSM Health St. Mary’s for treatment. Police say he will not be charged.

There were also three others in the car. An 18-year-old female was arrested on an outstanding juvenile warrant. The other two were released without charges.
