The Cahokia Conference’s new look is starting to take shape. Okawville High announced Friday the longtime independent in multiple sports has accepted the invitation to join the Cahokia. The decision became official Thursday at the Official District 10 School Board Meeting when members approved the move to join an athletic conference that traces its beginnings to 1928.
Okawville joins Roxana and Chester as new members of the Conference, which also extended invitations to East Alton/Wood River and Sparta. Should those schools accept, the Cahokia Conference will have 18 schools, which will be divided into 3, six team divisions made up of small, medium and large schools.
