Odin Superintendent Jeff Humes addresses the graduates from an empty gym during a virtual graduation released on Saturday.
Eleven Odin High School seniors graduated and 18 8th graders were promoted to high school in virtual graduation ceremonies on Saturday.
Superintendent Jeff Humes told the high school graduates this wasn’t the way anyone wanted their school year to end, but life will return to normal and feels we can learn and become stronger from the experience. He then challenged the graduates.
“Dream big, be fearless, don’t fear failure, don’t just exist, live. Many before you have failed, but the greatest of the great kept going. Stay true to those you share journey in life and support them and in turn, they will support you,” said Humes. “And lastly, stay patient because good things come to those who wait.”
The high school graduating class was led by valedictorian Nikki Duncan and salutatorian Lucas Schafer. The junior high valedictorian was Azlinn Pratt and the salutatorian was Amiah Wallace.
The graduation ceremonies were placed on the Odin School’s website and Facebook page Saturday morning.
The Odin Fire Department then led the graduates on a parade through town.
