Sandoval man arrested for DUI after nearly striking protestors in Centralia

A 37-year-old Sandoval man has been arrested for driving under the influence after his car nearly struck some of the protestors in downtown Centralia Sunday night.

Centralia Police Chief Greg Dodson says Frederick Rowcliff was headed northbound on Elm Street near the Bell Tower Park when he reportedly came close to some of the protestors as he sped past.

Dodson doesn’t believe Rowcliff was intentionally trying to hit anyone but was just intoxicated.

Rowcliff later posted bond and was released.
