Douglas Carter, 62, of Bonnie, Illinois, passed away at 12:15 pm on July 31, 2020, at White Oak Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Mount Vernon.
Doug worked for Mount Vernon Neon Lighting for over forty years as a Union Glassblower. He loved riding his Harley and was a lifelong member of A.B.A.T.E. He is dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
A Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 4, 2020, from 2:00 to 3:00 P.M. at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. Please remember to observe social distancing at this time. He was born November 24, 1957, in Anna, Illinois to the late Bill Oleva (Palmer) Carter. Doug married Donna (Pierce) Carter and she preceded him in death in February of 2020.
Doug is survived by his children, Brittany Carter and fiancé, Jason Palmer of Sesser and Bryan Carter and girlfriend, Melissa Young of San Antonio, Texas; stepdaughter, Amber Phillips of Mount Vernon; two grandchildren, Austyn and Ainsley Palmer; four step-grandchildren, Brooklynn, Bailey, Brodie, and Ethan; sister, Debbie LeMay and husband, Steve of Mount Vernon; nephew, Chad Carter and wife, Jessica of Texico; and great-nephew, Caleb Carter.
