One person was injured in a three-vehicle rear-end crash on State Route 161 near the Moonglow Road intersection east of Centralia on Wednesday afternoon.

Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies say a van driven by 35-year-old Cory Norville of Myers Road in Centralia crashed into the rear of a car driven by 55-year-old Sheila Vaughn of Fairfield.  The impact pushed the Vaughn vehicle into the rear of a car driven by Monte Clark of State Route 161 in Centralia.    Reports indicate Clark had stopped to make a turn into her driveway.

Vaughn was injured in the crash and taken to SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital for treatment of injuries.   The other two drivers escaped injury.

While the Centralia Fire Department was initially called, their response was canceled once it was determined no one was trapped.

Norville was ticketed for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

The crash occurred at 5:41 Wednesday evening.
