Beverly Davis, 86, of Centralia passed away peacefully Monday, September 14, 2020 at Fireside House in Centralia. Beverly was a natural born caretaker all of her life. She felt blessed to be a wife and mother and gave all her energies to caring for her family and her home. When her family was grown, Beverly continued her legacy of nurturing others by working for Addus Home Heath Care, bringing smiles and assistance to those in her care. Beverly was an amazing cook, famous for her mouth-watering fried chicken and biscuits and gravy. She took joy in taking care of many children over the years, and also, was so grateful to babysit her grandchildren. Beverly’s favorite way to spend a day was by being surrounded by family, sharing laughter and love.
Irvin Macz Funeral Home in Centralia is privileged to be assisting the family of Beverly Davis with arrangements. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, September 18, 2020 at Little Grove Christian Church Cemetery in Walnut Hill with Chaplain Joannie Naraghi officiating. Survivors include her children, David Davis (Cindy) of Centralia, Illinois, Dennis Davis (Deanne) of Florida, Douglas Davis of Patoka, Illinois Delmer Davis (Tammy) of New York, Dwight Davis of North Tonawanda, New York, Doyle Davis of Centralia, Illinois, Brenda Schindlbeck of Centralia, Illinois, Bonita Zamerski of North Tonawanda, New York, Becky Davis of Odin, Illinois, Barbie Lockwood (Jimmy) of Wasilla, Alaska; siblings, Harold Hurd (Julie) of Flora, Illinois, Eddy Hurd (Linda) of Louisville, Illinois, Russel Hurd of Cisne, Illinois, Ronnie Hurd (Trudy) of Flora, Illinois, and Alberta Fleeharty of Michigan; and numerous cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren.
She was born on July 13, 1934 the daughter of Walter and Ruth (Hunt) Hickenbottom in Utica, Illinois. She married her sweetheart, Louis Davis on April 22, 1953 and he preceded her in death. Beverly was preceded in death by both her parents; husband, Louis Davis; an infant daughter; 1 sister, and 3 brothers.
