The Illinois Department of Public Health has reported 2,529 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease in Illinois, including 25 additional confirmed deaths.
The deaths include two in Edgar County as well as deaths in Macoupin, Montgomery, and St. Clair County.
A record number of test results were reported before the Saturday report, with 74,286 received. That brings the total number of tests done on Illinois residents to over the 5-million mark.
The statewide positivity rate has dipped to 3.5-percent for the past seven days. The Metro East Region remains at an even eight percent for the second day in a row. The Southern Illinois Region is at 6.5-percent. The East Central Illinois Region is at 2.6-percent.
As of Friday night, 1,469 people in Illinois were reported in the hospital. Of those, 326 patients were in the ICU and 141 were on ventilators.
