Mr. Hickey was a graduate of Mt. Vernon Township High School.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and then worked for Joy Manufacturing for many years.  He was a “good ol’ country boy,” that enjoyed history, hunting, fishing, and country life.  He didn’t need to go out and see the world.  Texico was all the world he needed as long as the deer were plentiful and the fish kept biting.

He was born June 19, 1952, in Mt. Vernon, the son of Pete and Maxine( Daniels) Hickey.  On February 14, 2001, he married Patricia “Patty” Henry, and she preceded him in death on March 13, 2014.

He is survived by four children, Steve Hickey and wife Stephanie, Kris Hickey, Cindy Kovacik and husband Jeff, and Dustin Hickey;  and four grandchildren, Noah Hickey, Jovie Kovacik, River Hickey, and Lottie Kovacik.

In addition to his wife, Patricia Hickey, he was preceded in death by his parents, Pete and Maxine Hickey, and his sister, Carolyn Hickey.
