Marion County has two more COVID-19 deaths; Clinton and Clay County report one apiece

The Marion County Health Department is reporting two more COVID-19 deaths.  The male in his 80s and female in her 90s were both long term care patients.  They bring the number of deaths in the county to 17.

There was also a death of a man in his 80s reported in Clinton County that is the county’s 25th COVID-19 related death and a male in his 80s in Clay County.

The Marion County Health Department is reporting 18 new cases on Wednesday, none in a long term care facility.  Five are from community spread and 13 are believed to have been infected by household or close contacts.    There are now 160 active cases, including seven in the hospital of which two are on ventilators.   10 were released from isolation on Wednesday, with 706 now totally recovered.

The ages of those testing positive range from a boy under six months to a female in her 70s.  All are doing well and are on isolation.

The Clinton County Health Department is reporting 23 new cases.  A total of 232 are now on home isolation and ten hospitalized.

Ten new positive cases were reported in Jefferson County ranging in age from a female under 13 to a female in her 90s who is hospitalized.   There are now 91 active cases in isolation.

Washington County is reporting nine new cases in the past two days.  Those testing positive range in age from a male and female between 5 and ten and three in their 60s.  They now have 22 active cases and one active hospitalized.

The Wayne County Health Department is reporting 22 new positive cases on Wednesday ranging in age from two males in their teens to a male in his 90s.  The department reports most of the positive cases are connected to long-term care.  101 are currently on isolation and six are hospitalized.
