Police Beat for Wednesday, October 21st, 2020

The Centralia Police Department has arrested 32-year-old Timothy Smith of Adams Road in Kell in connection with the theft of a scooter from the impoundment lot at Smitty’s Auto.   Police say video surveillance showed a person matching Smith’s description appearing to take the scooter.  However, Smith had been let go following initially questioning but police say additional evidence later surfaced to allegedly tie him to the case.   He was taken to the Marion County Jail for felony theft.

A 46-year-old Centralia man was arrested on a new Fayette County felony warrant for alleged possession of methamphetamine and possession of a hypodermic needle.  Chad Minor of Dover Street was later transferred from the Marion County Jail to Fayette County.   Bond on the warrant is set at $25,000.

31-year-old Jolee Graham of Allmon Street in Salem was arrested by Salem Police on a Fayette County failure to appear warrant in a theft case.   She was later transferred to the Fayette County Jail.  Bond is set at $1,500.

48-year-old Lonnie Whipple of Shobonier was arrested by Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies on an outstanding federal warrant.
