Bobcats State Runners Up…Lady Cats 6th On Cold, Wet, Windy Day In DuQuoin

The Franklin Park Bobcats were state runners up to Herrin by 10 points yesterday on a cold, wet, windy and slick afternoon to run at the DuQuoin State Fairgrounds.  Salem was led by 8th graders Caiden Beer who was 9th and Cole Casburn 13th Eli Baker, Robbie Shober and Hunter Malan were the other counters for the Bobcats and were All State.  The other 2 Salem runners also were All State with Payton Gullion finishing 34th and Caleb Purintun 37th.

The Lady Cats were 6th as a team.  Aila Laird led the way finishing 10th, Kendall Zimmermann was 11th, Finley Puricelli 18th and Ella Robinson was 50th to each place All State.  Allison Thurman was 56th, Brianna Redenbo 59th and Jordan Kessler 63rd.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Selmaville had all 3 of their runners in the top 50 of the Class S boys and girls races.  Maci Thorsen was All State at 48th in the girls’ race with Kaden James 38th and Kyler Sapp 42nd in the boys race.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

North Wamac’s Dakota Bender was top 10 medalist at 6th in the boys race.  Zerek Koch finished 26th overall.  On the girls’ side, Zelena Koch of Woodlawn was 50th grabbing the last All State spot.

Jonesboro won the girls Class S team event with 41 points followed by St Clare, St Joe Olney and then CCSD #204.  Rome was 8th as a team.  Raegan O’Neal was 18th, Audrey Schumm 37th, Riley Collins 42nd, Clover Tinsley 43 and Bailee Pigg 46 as the counters.  Also finishing All State was Addi Tinsley who was 48th.  Also in the top 50 were Aurora Amason 21st and Riley Lusch 35th both from Central City.

Pinckneyville won the boys event with 38 points followed by St Clare, New Horizon and Albers/Damiansville.  Rome was 8th as a team with all 7 in the top 50.  William Green, Trace Elliot and Evan Taylor were 30, 33 and 34 with Travin Elliot and Waylon Garrison 40 and 42, Taylor Jones 47 and Anthony Lee was 49.  Also in the top 50 from Field were Rowan Wilford 12 and Eli Johnston 15.
