There were three crashes on Selmaville Road southwest of Salem on Thursday resulting in two minor injuries.

Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 34-year-old Anthony Harden of Howard Street for driving under the influence.  He was released after posting $100 bond.

Deputies say a short time before the Thursday morning crash, Hayes had to be pulled from a ditch after his vehicle ran off the road near the railroad tracks south of U.S. 50.

Another crash followed at 12:18 Thursday afternoon when a vehicle driven by 19-year-old Preston Huggins of Salem ran off the road north of Nation Road.   The pavement was reportedly wet at the time.  Huggins was checked at the scene for injuries but did not require hospital treatment.

A little later in the noon hour Thursday, a pickup truck struck one of the Citation Oil Company Power Poles on the south side of 2922 Selmaville Road.  While the pickup left the scene, it left behind its bumper and license plate.   At last word, the driver was still being sought.
