Illinois State Police say eastbound Interstate 64 in Wayne County was closed for about six hours Friday for cleanup and recovery following the crash of a semi.
Preliminary investigative details indicate 63-year-old Larry Vaughn of Louisville, Kentucky left the right side of the road, overcorrected and overturned onto I-64, and came to rest blocking both lanes of eastbound traffic. Vaughn was airlifted to a regional hospital with serious injuries.
Vaughn was ticketed for improper lane usage.
The crash occurred at 2:16 Friday morning.
