2020 11/27 – Barbara Louise (Bond) Gibson

Barbara Louise (Bond) Gibson of Centralia passed away Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at the age of 80. Barbara was a loyal employee for Kas Potato Chip Factory in Centralia for 21 years. She also made lasting friendships with her co-workers at Hollywood Candy Factory in Centralia where she was employed for 3 years. Barbara shared warm smiles with the customers at Walmart in Centralia where she was a bright light for 3 years. Barbara was most proud to have the opportunity to be a wife and mother, making a warm, comfortable, safe place for her family. She was a faithful member of Eternity Baptist Church and was a gracious volunteer for One Hope United. Barbara was a supportive wife of a railroad worker and Pastor, offering unconditional love and understanding for the important position her husband held. She will be missed dearly by her family and friends, but happy memories of a life well lived will provide peace. Barbara leaves an amazing example of walking life’s journey with purpose and compassion for others.

A celebration of life service will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, December 5, 2020 at Eternity Baptist Church in Centralia with Pastor Karl Barnfield officiating. A visitation time to offer condolences to the family of Barbara will be held from 12:00 P.M. until the time of the service on Saturday at the church where those in attendance will be asked to wear a mask and the number of people in the church at one time will be limited. Memorials may be made in Barbara’s honor to One Hope United, Centralia Campus – Centralia, Illinois. Survivors that will cherish memories of Barbara’s generosity and kindness include her beloved family, daughter, Vickie McDaniel and husband Steve of Richview; son, Bradley Tiemann and wife Tonya of Richview; Her grandchildren are Craig McDaniel and Jennifer Nesbit, Mark McDaniel and wife Chrissy, Adam Tiemann and wife Traci, Amie Green and husband Matt,. She has several great grandchildren, Gracin McDaniel, Chase McDaniel, Tylor McDaniel, Lilah Tiemann, Grant Tiemann, Anniston Green. Also several close cousins, Raymond (who was like a brother to her), Don, Joyce, JoAnne, Ronnie and Cheri & Shirley; and step-children, Linda, Bob, Alice, and Rose.

She was born on January 1, 1940 the daughter of Forrest and Edna (Canall) Bond in Fairfield. She married Norman Tiemann (later divorced) and they had 2 children. She married Paul O. Gibson on September 22, 1978 and he preceded her in death on December 2, 2007. In addition to her husband Paul, she was preceded in death by her parents, Forrest and Edna Bond; step-children, Barbara and Michael; and many Aunts, Uncles and cousins. She was an only child.
