Salem grad Brendan Boles will continue to pitch as he has been signed by the Alton River Dragons, a first-year summer-collegiate team set to begin play in 2021. They will play in the Prospect League with their home games being played at Gordon Moore Park in Alton.
They announced the signing of three McKendree University pitchers to their roster which also included a pair of former Civic Memorial Eagles. Joining Boles will be Geoff Withers and Brandon Hampton.
Boles transferred to McKendree after starting his college career at Kaskaskia College. Last spring as a junior at McKendree, Boles tied for the team lead with 2 wins on the mound going 2-0 with a 4.43 ERA and was 2nd on the team with 22 strikeouts over 22.1 innings of work. He was named to the Academic All-Great Lakes Valley Conference team.
