Sandoval Police say two men were stabbed in an argument at a home in the 200 block of East Commercial in Sandoval on Thanksgiving afternoon.   A third person was arrested later on two counts of aggravated battery in connection with the incident.

Sandoval Police Chief Joe Lyons says a 44-year-old Walnut Hill man was initially taken to SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital and then transferred to St. Louis for treatment.   A 47-year-old Salem man was treated for his injuries at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia.   Lyons understands both men were in stable condition.   The names of the two stabbing victims have not yet been released.

The man taken into custody in connection with the stabbings is identified as 26-year-old Kole Koehler of U.S. 51 in Sandoval.   He remains in the Marion County Jail.   Koehler was located later on Thanksgiving Day.

Lyons does not believe the weapon has been recovered.

Meanwhile, a fourth person at the home was taken into custody on unrelated charges.  20-year-old Lillian Hongsermeier of North Avenue in Iuka was first arrested on an outstanding Marion County failure to appear in court warrant for felony theft.  While being arrested, Hongsermeier was allegedly found in possession of meth and a narcotic instrument.   She was taken to the Marion County Jail.  The bond on the warrant is set at $5,000.
